Ballpoint pen on found bone, 2020.
Size: 3 (3/4)" x 2 (1/2)"
This is the fourth installment of (Un)Heard, a series responding to emotional abuse.
This skull was found in Connecticut woods on 5/9/2020. The animal died a natural death but I have chosen to immortalize it’s life with it’s inclusion in this series. This piece illustrates validation that is deserved in dire moments. It speaks to how legacy, no matter how seemingly insignificant, transcends death. I aim to show that survival & trauma are recognized in time and never entirely go unnoticed.
