HOPE Week

As a part of their annual HOPE week (Helping Others Persevere & Excel) The New York Yankees paid an unexpected visit to the incredible employees of Ridgefield CT's Prospector Theater on August 18, 2015.

Within the United States, 57 million adults live with some form of disability. Of these individuals, 80% are unemployed. However, The Prospector Theater works to turn those numbers around.
The Prospector is a non-profit theater staffed primarily by citizens with disabilities. It serves not only as a small town movie theater, but a community that provides adults with disabilities opportunities for meaningful employment and workplace experience.
Moved by founder Valerie Jenson's mission, The Yankees came and surprised The Prospector Staff, sharing with the employees the importance of teamwork, ambition, and belief in oneself.

The New York Yankee's Hope Week mission is rooted in the belief that acts of goodwill provide hope and encouragement to more than the recipient of the gesture.
